Yah, its clear that it's not just old age. Even older athletes (in their 30's, 40's) should be in better physical shape than to be injured this frequently and I believe someone should at least look into it

Are you actually a member of the Mets training staff?

I work with a 44-year-old world class athlete who never pulls hammys or quads. He is a fighter and not a baseball player. But he works out 2 times a day including sparring and wrestling. I would venture to say that our S&C guy is better than the Mets.

Alou has a great body and probably does reps with 250lbs but he isn't in shape. Castillo clearly isn't in shape. It's also a possilbility that these guys aren't drinking enough fluids. I don't know because I'm not back there every day, but something is being done improperly from the piling up of avoidable injuries.

All you guys are clue-less about A-hernndez,

He might be a great fielder but STINKS at bat.

THIS IS NOT WHAT THIS TEAM NEEDS, WHERE IT HAS BECOME EMINENT THAT THIS TEAM LACKS OFFENSE.

Therefore we need a good 2nd baseman that can HIT and field..

Hernandez is not what this team needs.

btw in AAA he is batting .184

yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry i didnt sit and check the month each player was born, just did it based on the year, so a guy born in '78 is 30 regardless of what month he was born in

dude, the older you get, the more likely you are to get injured, thats just facts. We happen to have a few older guys who get injured, it has nothing to do with our strength and conditioning being worse then other teams.

my guess is you've made the argument at some point in your life that errors and fielding percentage are not adequate measures of a players fielding ability. Use the stats as you wish though.
