Nice. Let’s get Jeff Duncan, Danny Garcia, and Jason Roach back in here!

  8. Ceetar says:

Who are you kidding, even if he hit .420 for the Mets and drove in the winning run in the World Series, the Mets likely wouldn’t have a jersey for him. As it is , It’s hard enough to get non Wright/Reyes/Beltran/Wagner/Delgado jerseys.

i can’t believe this thread got 17 replies.

    make that 18.

For those of you who remember the trade in which we got Raul Gonzalez in the first place…for Shawn Estes…it was NOT a total waste. That was the trade we also got a left-hander named Pedro Feliciano in.

    • Metsfan980 says:

Yeppers, it ended up being a pretty decent trade.

I’m still sad that the Mets traded Shinjo and Relaford for Estes in the first place!

    We got Adrian Gonzalez?

    Dam, nevermind….

  12. MudvilleNine says:

Do we have some kind of agreement where we get guys ready for the Newark Bears?

  13. nyr2k2 says:

Every team makes these moves all the time. Agreed with Danny (for the first time ever, heheh) that it’s shocking that this post has as many replies as it does.

  14. krumbledkookie says:

If we need outfielders, Omar should keep in mind there’s a proven talent out there named Reggie Sanders who I’m sure is sitting by his phone waiting for a call.

    • nyr2k2 says:

Can you imagine the reaction here if the Mets signed a 40-year old OFer?

      • krumbledkookie says:

The point is that Sanders has proven to be able to hit big league pitching, whereas Gonzalez…. has not. He may be older, but he’s also much better, even at his advanced age.

    • Nate W. says:

Rickey Henderson would like you to know that Rickey Henderson is also available to play.

  15. Nate W. says:

with Caleb Stewart failing at AAA before being demoted and Brady Clark out for the year they Mets are kinda short on AAA OF’s. If they remain short Raul will make a decent part time OF for AAA. I cant see him being much more.

Jesus Feliciano and Chris Aguila are hitting well, and Pascucci should probably DH more than anything, but he needs to be playing LF/1B if the Mets have plans to call him up.

Michel Abreu hit his 3rd homer of the season tonight, with over 200 ABs. What a waste of a pickup he has been.

I see the Yankees gave up on Morgan Ensberg. He has had 2 good yrs including 36-101; the guy is only 33. He plays 3rd & 1b – we dont have a true backup at either position. I really cant see a reason not to sign him to a minor league with an out if he isnt called up by an agreed upon date. If all of our 2b’men can be called backup OF’s so can this guy. What in the world is the thinking in signing Raul today ?

    • Nate W. says:

I’d be for Ensberg too, the Zephers dont have a productive 3B or 1B on the roster.

Tatis would be the Mets backup 3B, and half the roster can play 1B if needed.

    • krumbledkookie says:

Ensberg has got nothing left in the tank… his numbers look like those of a typical steroid/HGH case to me, though I hate to be so cynical. I’ll pass.

  17. dave27 says:

With all the trades the Mets have nothing to show for, anyone realize that Gonzalez, Brady Clark, and Pedro Feliciano were all acquired in the Shawn Estes deal in 2002?

I know they all left the organization at least once in between, but an interesting bit of trivia.
