With all the trades the Mets have nothing to show for, anyone realize that Gonzalez, Brady Clark, and Pedro Feliciano were all acquired in the Shawn Estes deal in 2002?

I know they all left the organization at least once in between, but an interesting bit of trivia.

I totally agree with you that Sanders would be a reasonable option. Just noting that this place would have a collective stroke if

The point is that Sanders has proven to be able to hit big league pitching, whereas Gonzalez.... has not. He may be older, but he's also much better, even at his advanced age.

Ensberg has got nothing left in the tank... his numbers look like those of a typical steroid/HGH case to me, though I hate to be so cynical. I'll pass.

I'd be for Ensberg too, the Zephers dont have a productive 3B or 1B on the roster.

Tatis would be the Mets backup 3B, and half the roster can play 1B if needed.

I see the Yankees gave up on Morgan Ensberg. He has had 2 good yrs including 36-101; the guy is only 33. He plays 3rd & 1b - we dont have a true backup at either position. I really cant see a reason not to sign him to a minor league with an out if he isnt called up by an agreed upon date. If all of our 2b'men can be called backup OF's so can this guy. What in the world is the thinking in signing Raul today ?

with Caleb Stewart failing at AAA before being demoted and Brady Clark out for the year they Mets are kinda short on AAA OF's. If they remain short Raul will make a decent part time OF for AAA. I cant see him being much more.

Jesus Feliciano and Chris Aguila are hitting well, and Pascucci should probably DH more than anything, but he needs to be playing LF/1B if the Mets have plans to call him up.

Michel Abreu hit his 3rd homer of the season tonight, with over 200 ABs. What a waste of a pickup he has been.

Can you imagine the reaction here if the Mets signed a 40-year old OFer?
