According to Adam Rubin in the Daily News, Angel Pagan is still unable to bat from the right side of the plate, ‘signaling a return isn’t close.’
…again, if pagan is not ready, with Moises Alou due back around the end of the week, the Mets cannot continue to carry Nick Evans, who is beyond overmatched…at this point, Rual Casanova is being used a pinch hitter, which makes no sense either…if casanova has to be on the roster, then Brian Schneider should be starting every game while Ramon Castro is used as a pinch hitter…otherwise, casanova and evans should be demoted, and alou and Val Pascucci or Chris Aguila should be promoted…

orrrrrrrrrrr since the spot of Evans/Casanova isn’t used much, you bring up Valentin for the good of the mental on the team….
EVEN if Pascucci comes up..hes gonna get a few at bats here and there a game here and there, hes not gonna be able to stay hot.
If something happens to Delgado, thats another story.
Valentin had another injury issue the other day (I can’t remember what), and isn’t an option.
Activate Alou, send down Evans. Then, you’re far less likely to need PH for anyone other than the pitcher, except in limited situational reasons (like replacing Easley with an LH if Castillo sat).
Raul hits in blowouts, Ramon hits for Schneider in close games.
It’s been so long since Pagan got hurt that I can’t even remember what his injury was.
i just remember when he got hurt that he stayed in the game a few innings and almost didn’t go on the DL…or something along those lines
you’re probably kidding, but it was that ridiculous catch into the stands that effed up his shoulder. at first i thought it was a fake-ish DL for roster purposes, at that time when we made like 10 moves in a day. guess i was wrong.
Agreed. Bring the ‘Boss’ up.
Why do you love Val Pasucci so much? Did you love Roberto Petagine and every other AAAA slugger?
Jorge Toca!
Do we have an injury report on Alou? Is he actually going to be ready when his DL time is up?
that was the word a few days ago.
I agree that Evans is overmatched, and would think that Aguila could do a better job of being a part time OF. He has experience at it with the Marlins.
I think Casanova might be the best bat they can find in the minors, which is just a sad reality.
It really is a shame that FM got hurt when he did, he would have brought some life to the team even if he wasnt getting any hits. Evans looks like he would rather be writing in his blog or checking in with myspace for the latest…
If you send Casanova down, you can’t use Ramon Castro as a pinch hitter. What happens if Schneider gets hurts? Who is your backup. And Schneider can’t play every game.
but they dont use Castro as a PHer anyway…
