He was MVP in LITTLE LEAGUE!!?? (snort!) Awesome!

Loved to see the pics of Little Mex with the big gaps in his teeth. ;)

Mike and the Mad Dog do not, cannot and will not understand what Keith means to us. I don't expect them to. They have a Yankee-centric world view.

I had to laugh during Mike and the Mad Dog with they were ripping SNY for doing that piece on Mex...

I thought it was great. It was a terriffic piece of insight that I am sure no one knew about until last night. Hell, Keith is my favorite Baseball player of all-time, and I didn't know that stuff.
Great job, SNY.

This right here is one of the things that point out the differences between SNY and YES. Here is a snippet into the life of one of our franchises best players. YES is running their Centerstage story on Snoop Dog tonight. I understand he had so much to do with the greatness and legacy of the mighty pinstripers...

A few other things that I would like to point out about our SNY team, and how it makes the broadcast that much better to watch.

First, does Ron Darling know his sh*t or what? The little piece he did on breaking down Zito's delivery was great. How he "covers" his hand over the ball... you wont get that on a YES broadcast, or even in BB Tonight.
Secondly. Gary Cohen is very passionate about Met's baseball, and it shows in every game he does. Last night, he made a mistake, and you could hear the displeasure with himself as he corrected himself. That is genuine. I personally think he's as close to a fan in the booth that we could reasonably ask for. He's professional, and yet he seems to ride the rollercoaster with the rest of us.
Thirdly, I know it wasnt there last nite, but I love that behind the ump cam that Keith loves. That is a phenomenal angle. I only wish that they would incorporate a straight centerfield camera to show the true break of pitch. You don't have to show the whole game that way, but the over-the-pitcher's shoulder camera, is not true. Yeah, you see both the pitcher and the batter, but not the true pitch. Just a little gripe I have with most BB broadcasts. ESPN used to use that camera, but I haven't seen it used this year yet, and I don't know why.

Keep up the good work SNY. 99% of the time, it is a joy to watch a baseball game through your station.

Geez. what's next for Kevin Burkhardt? Spelunking with Indiana Jones? Knocking back shots with David Lee Roth? Hanging with Mex has to be my generation's dream come true. Hernandez will always be beloved by Mets fans--he's a true original.

And is that lovely lady at 4:00 Keith's mom?

lol Mike and the Mad Dog just said that unless it's someone like Joe DiMaggio that no one wants to watch a video of an ex-player's upbringing and home town.
Yeah, because the fact that he's a great ex-Met, during a Mets telecast, in San Francisco, a few miles from where he grew up has no significance. These two guys are morons.

I thought the video was very cool. It gives you some perspective of how Keith grew into what he is today.
