Note: Alou and Marlon could Return Today
By Matthew Cerrone - Jun 10, 2008 8:34 am

Moises Alou and Marlon Anderson will work out at Shea Stadium this afternoon, at which point the team will decide whether to activate them from the disabled list.

well, it would seem at least one of the two will return, since Ryan Church must be replaced on the roster…

In the 14 games that Alou has played this season, the Mets are 7–7, during which he is hitting .340.

As noted yesterday, the Mets bench is hitting .165, which is good for last place in the National League.

    Call up another catcher imo.

  2. Dennis A says:

    How do we define “bench?”

  3. iamatwork says:

I don’t see why we need more guys who can play OF. We have Beltran and Endy, otherwise I say we just stick more guys out there who can hit .230, like Tatis.

Maybe they should call up Carp and stick him in left. Why not? WE NEED MORE DEFENSIVE OUTFIELDERS!!!

    • MacD81 says:

      Wrong. We need more cowbell.

      • iamatwork says:

See, logic says more cowbell will benefit us. I disagree. I think we need more guys who don’t show emotion and don’t give interviews. I want Wright and Wagner to be the only ones who ever stick around to talk to the media. THANK GOD FOR JOHAN SANTANA. YOU COME TO NEW YORK AND WE SEE YOU ONCE A WEEK. We don’t even see him in the dugout when he’s not pitching.

We need more defensive outfielders like we need a kick to the groin. Wait, we already got that?

  4. nomoredelgado says:

that .165 number is just pathetic

  5. Danny says:

I hope Abraham Nunez stays on the roster. Guy is just so invaluable.

  6. napes22 says:

    Losing Church again really hurts

  7. Jay says:

The question is, what part of Alou’s body will be the first to go out today… here are the choise: Calf, Knee, Hamstring, Quad, Back, Shoulder, Elbow.

    i’m feeling the hamstring today…

    tomorrow’s headline:

“alou returns from DL…… for 3 innings…. then goes back on DL with a grey hair strain”

  9. Mr. Mets Butler says:

overdose of Viagra. Excessive groin injury.

  10. guierllNO MOta says:

Nunez will stay over Casanova….i hope, give David Wright a chance to sit an inning in 99 degree heat…Casanova is only valuable if Castro oversleeps again, or he happens to be near young women in Pitt…..too soon?

  11. kingrw says:

the bench was almost universally forecast to be team strength this year.

anybody think chavez easley and anderson would all be hitting around .200 at this point?

  12. gentry says:

    woop tee do!!

Breaking News!!!!-Moises just played a hammy watching The Flavor of Love, what’s most disturbing is that it was rerun…that he’d already seen. Boy when it rains it’s pours.

“In the 14 games that Alou has played this season, the Mets are 7–7, during which he is hitting .340.”
meaning that he will restore order and bring them back to .500 to stay? excellent

“As noted yesterday, the Mets bench is hitting .165, which is good for last place in the National League.”
it’s also good for last in the ny-penn league, or might as well be
