Quote: Alou is Optimistic
By Matthew Cerrone - Jun 11, 2008 7:42 am

Moises Alou, as quoted by the New York Post, after being asked if he believes the Mets are capable of making the playoffs:

“Definitely….For some reason, I feel optimistic about it.”

…this is probably because when you are on the roster, mo, the team wins – and when you’re not, they don’t…

…the problem is that you are rarely on the roster

  1. Does anyone else feel like they were kicked in the nuts, shorn, and castrated after last night’s loss?

    Yay for more button mashing.

      LOL

When Reyes starts smiling again, we’ll win……
      oh wait

When Pedro comes back, we’ll win……
      oh wait

When Alou comes back, we’ll win…….
      oh wait

There needs to be a players only meeting, and then we’ll win…….
      Oh wait……..

Now we need to bring back Valentin so we’ll win……..
Willie needs to flip over a table so we’ll win………
Omar needs to bring someone else in so we’ll win……….

JUST FRIGGING WIN ALREADY AND STOP TRYING TO LOOK FOR REASONS/TURNING POINTS/BS DISTRACTIONS.

Talk is cheap Moises, talk is cheap.

Are these guys serious? Do they watch themselves play? Every night they find a new way to lose and it’s getting unbearable to watch. Finally we get a good feeling after 2 innings and then the wheels fall apart.

I want this thing to turn around but it’s time to make drastic changes. Fire Willie and lets move on! This teams needs a kick in the butt and obviously he isn’t the guy to get it done..

Its time for them to do something.

I’ve said its not Randolph’s fault, and I still believe this. But he has to go at this point for changes sake. Its like there is a fog over this team.

On the bright side, they will have plenty of time to knock down Shea this fall and build a new parking lot…

Maybe they should bring back Rusty. Then we’d have a bench. Or carry a few more catchers. Or maybe a few more guys 36 and over.

  6. SoCalMetsFan says:

Maybe Willie should just be like… “if you strike out with a man on third and less than 2 outs… you owe the pot 1000 bucks. At the end of the season… with all the money we earn (a lot if I had to guess) whoever has the highest batting avg with RISP gets to do what the choose with the money (gentleman’s club if I had to guess)”

  7. stickguy says:

The frustrating (sad?) thing about this year is that Alou is kind of right. It does seem like the Mets should be able to win and make the playoffs. Except, of course, for the fact that they can’t seem to actually win any games.

THey miss Church more than you realize. Once he went down, everything seemed to fall apart.

This season is beginning to feel alot like 2002…lots of promise but just one failure after the next.
I hope these guys make me eat these words…nah they don’t have the heart!

as i left the game yesterday i was thinking the exact same thing, that the 08 team will go down in the annals being compared to the 02. but 08 carried many many more expectations, and for that reason, it is much worse. and yes, i said “carried” meaning, in my eyes, the mets will not make the playoffs.

It’s like optimistic, but more delusional?

    Optimitics?

Has anybody noticed, that when Alou is back Frankie the Hot Dog vendor sells more hot dogs in Sec”C” than in Sec”B”. Which means it’s not Alou who helps this team it’s Frankie. Unfortunately Frankie threw his arm out tossing a hot dog from Sec”C” to a fan in Sec”B” and won’t be back until the first week of Sept…………………LETS GO FRANKIE………..
