Wow, anti-manuel comments already! The honeymoon is over even quicker than I thought!

    • ravi3 says:

he absolutely is interim. I think that if they were really high on Manuel, then Willie would have been let go earlier.

Plus, by slapping the interim tag, it gives brass the leeway to go in another direction should things not work out….of course, here is hoping they do, starting tonite with Johan

  5. sirk says:

    ya fired…

  6. EliPorter says:

if you look at willies firing, it might have been better to give him the pink slip tonight. heres why- with the nba finals possibly ending, this story would totally get overshadowed. maybe minaya thought tiger, the anticipation for game 6, and wangs injury would divert some attention from the mets firing…. apparently not or i might be overestimating his intelligence

  7. HitmeHickman says:

    going to the TV

  8. EliPorter says:

and one more thing, google has an application called “google trends” where it ranks the most searched items on google in the united states. the #2 most searched item in the US today is tony bernazard hah

  9. cinco312 says:

Let’s see what this coward has to say.

  10. AlreadyMissShea says:

All of this chaos over nothing. Omar just made it clear that Willie was not fired. He was relieved.

  11. telljimmyrollins says:

has anyone been able to see the live conference via mlb.com or mets.com ? I just get a blank screen.

  12. AlreadyMissShea says:

“I had two choices. He was going to be our manager for the entire year. Or he was not going to be our manager. I came to the decision that he is not going to be our manager.”

I’ll give Omar some credit. That’s a lot more direct than I expected him to be.

  13. nova86 says:

omars actually doing well i think

  14. lambay says:

greetings from Dublin Ireland. I think i must have been one of the first to find out about Willie’s firing this morning. 8.15am our time!

I am listening to the press conference on WFAN at the moment. Omar sounds really nervous.
