HaHa. That was good. They should dedicate a whole show like the Daily show to just making fun of sports. Not in a espn way but a Comedy Central way.

this is what happens when posts go through a filter. I think its lost and end up double posting.. Stop the filter Matt.

Based on the comments of the media (i.e. the Mets are a circus) you might even believe that the Wilpons sent Mr. Met to fire Willie.

Or they could have had him give the press conference instead of Minaya last night and that would cut down on the “ok’s” by about 99%.

    • shea jones says:

      Those “ok’s” were cringe-worthy.

The media has also very conveniently taken that 3:15am thing and run with it. Most fans don’t pay as much attention as fans on blogs like this one do. I’ve lost track of how many people have already said to me something along the lines of, “Your team is a joke. They woke your manager up at 3 o’clock in the morning and fired him.” But they didn’t. And that’s just one thing that makes this whole situation look worse than it actually was. The Mets deserve a lot of the criticism they’re getting for how this was handled, but the media has taken it to another level.

    Lol john is great
Talk about press. Im here in florida and my boss who doesnt even follow baseball(but knows im a die hard met fan) was talking about willie getting fired with me yesterday..AND I LIVE IN FLORIDA. This media circus is crazy and i hope it simmers down sooner rather than later and it doesnt get dragged out….like another event in mets history….

Jon Stewart is nowhere as funny as he thinks he is, smug face gestures aside. Thankfully we do have a truly talented fan in Jerry Seinfeld. We need an hour of Jerry and Steve Somers right about now!

  7. jamie says:

I love that he took two minutes one of the most popular shows on cable and dedicated it to this. now that’s a fan.

hilarious… that was really, really funny

  11. repeal the DH says:

it’s beyond me why people think this no talent bum is so funny. makes you think that people will laugh at anything now. just that i remember when even comedy used to have higher standards. this guy reminds me of some 7th grade class clown shooting spitballs. what an amateur! but i guess that’s what makes this such a great country. even losers like this clown can make it big…

Oh geez, are you going to start in with how great Jack Benny was or the good ole’ days of Lucille Ball and Lenny Bruce? Good God grandpa, John Stewart is a brilliant comic, check out some of his comedy shows. Open you mind, and move on beyond 1958.

  13. LilMetsFan says:

    John Stewart rocks.

    However…

Can we blame him for jinxing the Mets this year? Does anyone remember his show after opening day when the Mets won? He projected, based on their record so far, that the Mets would be 162-0 this season.

Clearly a joke, but if you’re really looking for a scapegoat now that Willie’s gone…

Well apparentely the media thinks west coast and east coast are in the same time zone. Thats what happens when you prevent the print business from putting it on there morning paper. They’re mad
