he should be moved to the minors or moved in a trade in July.. there should be no chance of resigning this ineffective lefthander for the 1in 5 chance he is going to piutch a good game... get somnething for him while you can...

Matt,

Love the Charlie Brown pic. I'm a huge Peanuts fan, and it occurs to me that the Mets are starting to remind me of CB's baseball team. Perez is the now new Charlie Brown.

oh come on. Omar didn't "get lucky" in 2006. He designed a great team that was built to win in 2006, and unfortunately, they didn't. Since then, however, he has failed to adapt and turn that team into one that could win in 2007 or compete in 2008. That is his failing. But lets not pretend like he didn't do a great job building that '06 team: luck implies he was incompetent and fell into that team, which he was not and did not.

What a hungry, passionate team. Fun to watch and easy to root for. This is clearly a group of players who only care about one thing: winning. Whether it's Delgado going all out, hustling down the line and sacrificing his body for the good of the team, Castillo with his blazing speed and awesome power, Alou and his iron-man endurance, Perez and his bulldog mentality, Wright and his Brooks Robinson impersonations down at 3rd--the list never ends. These Mets are a pure joy to behold. Reminds you of 1991 or 2003.

How many "well, at least it can't get any worse than this" moments can this team have? Pretty remarkable, and, to coin a phrase, "Amazing."

Flipped on the game when it was 6-0 and laughed. Later on, I flipped back over and pointed out the (at the time) 10-0 score to my wife, who simply said "Oh, that can't be good", which, IMO, pretty much sums up what it's been like being a Mets fan over the last 12 months.

It is clearly time to move our eyes to 2009, which is fine. The last thing we want is a rerun of 2004 (ill-advised panic trades) here. If the club does that, they run the risk of being MLB's version of the Knicks-- lots of old, expensive players and no hope of getting younger anytime soon.

Well at least we have Gary, Ron, and Keith to keep us entertained. These guys are continually phenomenal and surprisingly candid. This is (and remains) very refreshing, given the sorry state of the team.
