Omar has to start eating some crow. Delgado is done. Castillo needs to be traded in the offseason and we'll have to pay most of his salary. Orlando Hudson should be our next second baseman. He needs to get Delgado off of this team. Until that happen this team will be in limbo. Its time to see what Carp can do. Just give this kid a shot. At the very least you will know what you have going into next season.

I would hate to see Carp traded before he can be given a shot. The Yankees are going to land Tex so our options are going to be limited. Delgado is now only hurting this team for the future. Let the kids play.

I have been critical of the mets all year long. I had join the many voices of met fans whom have been disappointed in the mets lack- luster efforts. Starting today and for the rest of the year, I as a true mets fan who believes in the mets, will start to be more supportive for the rest of the year. We don't need bonds or any other player. I have FAITH that the mets some how will be division champions. This is still the year. Some-how or some-way they will pull it off. So, Met fans unite; lets support our mets . To borrow two phrase's; "O ye of little faith" and "ya gotta believe" it's "cause for thought" . Its easy to kick the team when their down, how about trying lift them up when their down. LETS SUPPORT OUR METS!!!

Let's trade Reyes for a 3B that knows how to throw to 1B and put Wright at 1B. Maybe he can catch better than he can throw.

Time to trade Reyes for a good return.

I'm sick of his fielding miscues and his stupid baserunning, and his 1st pitch popups with RISP (sign of a weak, overanxious choker)

Sick of his pouting and having to be treated so f**king delicately.

Lets get a grownup in here please

The front office needs to decide what the plan is for the future. Do we sacrifice the future to try to make the playoffs this year? Do we restock the minors by selling at the deadline?

I'm of the opinion that this team is poorly constructed and we should be sellers, but if the front office thinks we should make a run, then make a plan and stick to it. Right now, there doesn't seem to be a plan in place, which is the most frustrating thing for me.

We have a number of assets that would be attractive to other teams, that may not be a part of the 2-3 year future: Wagner, Schoeneweis, Feliciano, Delgado (to an AL club), Marlon, Schneider, even Alou if he can get healthy. I'm not saying that these guys would command A+ prospects, nor even that no-trade clauses would make it possible. I just want ANY kind of plan implemented instead of wallowing in mediocrity with an unwatchable team.

BXSCI, I don't really agree with that strategy. Nearly all of those guys will cost draft picks to sign, which is why we're in this mess in the first place. I think Mets fans need to tolerate a bit of a "rebuilding" phase until our system is producing major-league caliber players.

BUT... there needs to be a plan established in place. Someone brought this up earlier: are we buyers? Are we sellers? Just put a plan in place and stick to it!

Add Niese, Parnell and Holt to that list and I agree.

It's sad, though, that two of the four guys you mention were just drafted THIS YEAR. Wow, Omar... Wow.
