Reyes certainly wears his heart on his sleeve, and oh yeah, he is up there in several league leading categories, and right now is our only guy (besides dizzy Church) who is near .300.

No, I’m not seriously saying their value will be down tomorrow morning, but I honestly think a GM watching today might think, “hey, this guy could give me a solid start or two down the stretch — especially against the Yanks.” As for Delgado, I’m sure AL GMs are thinking he could be a potentially valuable LH bat to add to the equation. Don’t think this weekend didn’t enhance their value.

Here is the thing, Rick Peterson is a really interesting guy and in many ways a great pitching coach in that he achieved results, problem is, many of his results cases were short lived, one year wonders because the league would adjust and in some cases the pitcher, Perez in this instance would abandon a lot of what makes him successful.

Peterson’s problem was a one size fits all approach, and is not the way you can work with a pitching staff. Your are not in the business of making clones but getting the best out of each individual.

That is where Peterson failed.
