News: Angel Pagan may have Sugery
By Matthew Cerrone - Jul 1, 2008 9:09 am

Prior to last night’s game, Jerry Manuel told reporters that Angel Pagan is considering season-ending surgery on his left shoulder, which has had him on the disabled list since mid May.

from what i can gather, for weeks now he has been able to throw, but is still struggling to raise his arm above his head…and, while he can hit from one side of the plate, he’s unable to hit from the other

In the 31 games played before he injured his shoulder diving for a ball in the stands, Pagan was batting .275 with 11 walks in 91 at bats for the Mets, while playing all three outfield positions.

Matt, I don’t know if you were holding this info until you had more concrete resources but I heard this, and posted this in the comments section over 10 days ago. It was in Newsday as well as a few other places online. From what I heard, he’s having a hard time swinging the bat from the right side. It really shouldnt come as much of a shock….

Speaking of alive is El Duque alive? Was he sent back to Cuba? I mean there was a point where we got weekly updates about the guy and I haven’t heard of him in the past 2 months.

I think Omar Minaya strangled him with a piano wire in a California hotel at 3 AM

One of our outfielders will be out of the season? Whatever. We have plenty of amazing outfielders. I mean our bench is full of healthy, young, vibrant outfielders. Who cares. We don’t need anyone else in our lineup. It is pefect the way it is.

That really sucks. He was exciting to watch play. You could tell he was leaving nothing on the field. Will we ever see a healthy OF? Alou, Beltran, Church, Endy and Pagan. Wow, what could’ve been.

It took the Mets all this time to figure out he “might” need surgery.

This organization is a joke from top to bottom.

Congratulations on your deep medical knowledge, youknowwhatimsayin. Are you in private practice or working from a particular hospital?

Just another reason for the Mets woes this year.Great spring training-Lots of promise-Out for the season-No replacement

Well he was the replacement. I don’t know how often teams carry replacement replacement left fielders.

although considering who our starter was it might not have been a bad idea.

I wish Angel well. He really gave us a spark the first 20 games or so before he started to cool off. I was looking forward to seeing a product of our own system make it with us.
