Quote: Offense Needs to Be Consistent
During last night’s win against the Cardinals, the Mets scored seven runs on 14 hits, scoring in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
Manuel, on the offense, talking to reporters after the game, said:
“I have to see this on a consistent basis. Obviously, when you perform the way we did tonight, it gives you hope. You know it’s there. It’s just a matter of it becoming consistent. If we can get to that point, we’ll feel better about ourselves.”
…this has been the main reason for the Mets struggles this season, in my opinion…they go from looking like an offensive juggernaut to looking overmatched far too often…of course, we haven’t seen the lineup stay healthy all at one time for more than a few games, but once they start putting up consistent offensive performances i see no reason why this team can’t break the .500 barrier and make a run towards the playoffs…
