David Wright, an All-Star each of the last two seasons, was not selected for this year’s game which takes place at Yankee Stadium on July 15th.
Wright, on the All-Star voting:
“It is what it is, there’s a lot of deserving guys, but it’s all about winning. The All Stars has been something special the last couple of years, if I’m there, great. If not, regroup and try to make a run in the second half…It would be quite an honor, but if not I’ll get some rest and go get ‘em in the second half.”
David Wright is one of five players eligible to be voted in as the final player added to the National League team, which you can vote for at MLB.com.
…i’m sure david is disappointed…to make it last year and to not make it now would make me feel like i had declined in some way, but hopefully he knows that isn’t the case…obviously, everyone needs to go stuff the ballots to make sure that Pat Burrell doesn’t make it over wright…
