The umpire had a fair strike zone...It wasn't a big vertical zone, but he was calling strikes on pitches inside and outside

in a bubble Pedro's outing was good. But on the Mets 5 1/3 isnt good enough. It doesnt matter what the lead is, this Mets pen is capable of blowing any lead when you ask them to get 10-12 outs. Mets starters have to go 6 or 7 of its going to go like this again and again...

I guess I'd rather the Cubs get him than the Phils (from both a fan and fantasy player perspective), but I don't know why the A's would trade him considering they're definitely in the thick of a pennant race themselves. I think Burnett is the next somewhat high profile pitcher to go.

Excuse or not, he was being tightly squeezed by the ump...if you have a more liberal gamecaller, he would've had a gem...

Honestly, if he stays healthy, he's going to get better. I am looking for him to be a key part of whatever run we make. Pedro can be the glue of our staff!

He did not pitch exceptionally well by any stretch. I felt he was pretty good in innings 1-3 and kind of hanging on in the 4-6 innings when he finally was taken out.

I don't want to be too critical however since I see it as progress and better than he has been. Add in this is a tough lineup for him to get through. The have a lot of very dangerous lefthanded hitters in Utley, Howard, Rollins (switch) plus a few dangerous ones that are RH.

If Pedro can return to being this kind of pitcher in the second half of the season, we are going to be dangerous from a starting pitching standpoint.

pedro did well last night. Seemed the wheels were coming off at 100 pitches so something to remember but i think he would have went longer but the phills were putting up very good ab against pedro.

Solid performance by Pedro, and very glad to see it happen!

BTW, didn't he go 6.1?
