In last night’s win against the Giants, John Maine lasted four and two thirds innings and allowed three runs on two hits while walking five and striking out eight.
Maine, on his outing:
“It was just an all-around bad performance…The only positive that came out of it is we won. It was just a bad performance…Things are going to happen. I know you’re not always going to go out there and be perfect. There are times where I think I should battle a little more probably. It doesn’t happen sometimes.”
…maine is always hard on himself which probably helps to make him better, but last night was a weird game for him…eight strikeouts is great, but not indicative of how erratic his location was…but hey, a win’s a win…
