I know we were worried that Hampton was coming back after the break for the Braves, but he's gone and "tweaked" his groin again. We're all very lucky to dodge this bullet! Phew!

One thing is certain in regards to Utley, the contract they gave him and the snub they tossed Howards way is going to roost.

Rollins definitely has been sulking for awhile, and between him hurting his ankle and all of the acolades that Utley was getting this year, he didn't handle it too well. I think after winning the MVP, he thought he would be more appreciated. No one signs more autographs than Rollins on that team.

IMO, it's a combination of all that and him being worn down after the last few years. The guy hardly ever takes a day off.

Playing in Philly sure helped Rollins, too. Added 50 points to his slugging, and he hit 6 more homers at home. Not Holliday splits, but Rollins' home park was just as good a hitter's park.

Statistically speaking, Wright had the best year last year.

Well, his VORP was pretty good, and he's a SS.

The runner-up, Holliday, was a LFer and not a good one, and his home stats boost him from an OK player to MVP level.

Whoops, he had an OPS+ of 118 last year. Which, is still low, IMO, for an MVP.

Maybe when his manager benched him for not hustling he started to sulk and go into a slump. ;-)
