None! hopefully. But I think u missed my point!
I dont trust omar anymore NOT to give a lengthy
contract to one of our old men if he/they have a big
finish & we make the playoffs.

And that trade would help us this season too as we could move Easley to LF or one of the salary dumps such as Huff, Mora or Payton could play out there too.

If we could hang on to Fmart in that deal and sign a 1B that would be a heck of a lineup.
Reyes, Roberts, Wright, Church, Beltran, 1B, Fmart, Castro/Schnieder.

That actually sounds pretty good to me without really over analizing it at first glance.

09 maybe, after that no.
I saw something on here the other day about a trade for Roberts fromt he O's. What if we traded a few prospects, Castillo and lots of cash for Roberts and a couple of salary dumps like Mora, Huff, Bradford?

O's get rid of a lot of dead weight, get prospects and a 2nd baseman for cheap.

Just going by what I've seen so far from Reyes (granted, small sample). And I do agree with your point about going with the "proven Commodity" in a tight pennant race over and "Unproven" rookie. I just like the energy Reyes brings (speed, fielding, tough ABs). I know the logical thing is for Castillo to back Easley, But you have to agree with me that Castillo is not the answer at second base for the long term into 09 and beyond.

True, if you want to go the safe route, which I would probably also like myself. But the one with the Biggest "Upside" is definitely Perez. He has the potential of being allot more than just a "safe" bet. But, it remains to be seen and maybe he will always be one of these guys that has all the potential and natural ability in the world but never quite fullfills it.
