Maine did not do fine, he is a weak link that taxes the bullpen heavily.

Not true. It could very well happen. Phillies needed to make a move to get a starter in the rotation. There are 3 prized prospects in the Phillies system, one of which includes Carlos Carrasco. The Phillies didnt give up one of them in the Blanton deal, they were lower level prospects and by all accounts 2-3 years away from being major league ready. They could move the “real” prospects including Carrasco for a bat. And Gillick has something to prove this year being his last year as GM……

Agreed. And the homer off Maine was a joke. Bruce flicked the bat at the ball, and it’s gone. Stupid stadium.

Maine was wild a bit, definitely needs to work on that.
