Brett Myers is back with the Phillies and will likely start against the Mets on Wednesday. He struck out 28 in 27 innings in the minors.

John Baker is emerging as the answer to the Marlins catching woes. Three of his five hits have gone for extra bases.

Rafael Soriano is expected to return to the Braves Monday in time to face the Marlins. The Braves were 14-22 without Soriano.

The Washington Nationals swapped Ryan Zimmerman and Dmitri Young on the disabled list. Young is going on due to his diabetes.

OT: HOW DARE NEWSDAY Try to tear down the Mets as such? Their writing today is an outrage. AN OUTRAGE!! A FN MTHAFN OUTRAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anything to the negative they’ll strive for. Fn A HOLES!!! The Mets are going to win it all, and I can’t wait….All Omar needs to do is acquire Ibanez for an economical talent exchange or sign Bonds. I’d prefer Bonds of course, and a reliever wouldn’t hurt, but….F Newsday. wow….really….wow….

Manuel should have left Perez in for one more inning, but no complaints about Manuel….he’s the best manager I’ve ever seen in a Mets uniform in my entire life….

You obviously forgot about the Bobby Valentine era…where they went to the World Series with Benny Agbayani, and Timo Perez

if they cant aquire ibanez i wonder if the cards would consider trading chris duncan?

  4. metz1 says:

Even if we dont we need another bat.

  5. KHERUB VON KHERUB says:

I doubt it…they don’t need him, but his pops is the pitching coach…Ibanez is a better get anyway….they just really need to sign Bonds though…

I also would trade delgado after this year is over unless hes a free agent. if he hits 30 homers some power starved team would take him. even if we paid part of his salary [trade him while he has some value!]

    • Burn0820 says:

Delgado has a club option after this year…I would only exercise that option if mark texiera signs with the Yankees….or sign Pat Burrrell as a 1B/LF and possibly Manny Ramirez…of course that would be dreaming picking both of those guys up.

  7. metz1 says:

i just hope we can get a decent hitter that will help us now. if we make a trade.

  8. metz1 says:

matt murton might be another possiblity.

  9. KHERUB VON KHERUB says:

buy him out, and re-sign for 2 years at 8.5….After the Mets win it all this year we’ll want to keep as much of the team together as possible….definitely ink Ollie, and just sign Francisco Rodriguez at any cost….

willie randolph got the team to a swing away from the world series, are you forgetting that, and dont even sell me the whole collapse, the team was injury plagued, and constructed poorly, gm’s fault, unless jerry gets them to the nlcs, regardless of record or 10 game win streak, then, as much as i like jerry, the results show he is not better than wilie. on to other matters, i sign delgado to a three year deal after buying out the option, at second, i dont know honestly, left field, there are free agents out there, and who is in favor of resigning carlos beltran after three years, and signing ryan church long term, and k-rod, why sign him, you got wagner, and its a waste of eddie kunz,

ps. when do ike davis and reese
