Encarnacion and Phillips got theirs when they teamed up to blow the game defensively in the 10th.

I agree the homers would’ve been out anywhere and Pelf was a bit off; that said, he basically had 1 really bad inning and otherwise did well to keep us in the game on what was clearly going to be a hitter’s day (hot, humid). His control was still generally good, which was his major flaw before. Only real complaint was too many fly balls, which probably means his sinker wasn’t sinking as much as it should have been. But if this is his worst performance, I’ll take it.

not really, it was you know A TIGHT GAME, and a hbp would put the go ahead run on base, and the thing to the head could get you ejected.

I love me some Big Pelf, but it’s painful to listen to his post game interviews. Although I didn’t listen yesterday, his usual insertion of “you know” before, during and at the end of each sentence is awful.

Then again, if he keeps pitching like he has, he can speak however he wants.

Did anyone else want to see him throw at the next guys head when Encarnacion chucked his bat after hitting the Homer. In the old days the next guy would have been on his back the next pitch.

Don’t dismiss the HRs as being due to the park; those were HRs anywhere. Either way, I like the way he battled and kept us in the game.

It’s really nice to see Pelf hold his own against the other young pitching stars in the league…He and Edison had both given up 4 by the 5th inning, but Volquez was at, like 89 pitches and Big Mothaf***ing Pelf was under 60.

Yeah, Big Pelf pitched better than his final line would indicate. The homeruns were a bit troubling, if only because he hasn’t given up any in quite some time, but considering he was pitching in the Great American Smallpark, we can give him a pass on that.

Overall, a good performance by Pelfrey. Most encouraging is the fact that he can be off but still give 7 decent innings.
