Many Met fans were very sensitive when it was Lastings Milledge emoting like this. And, a less sizable but loud contingent were (and are) sensitive when Jose Reyes emotes like this. It is nice to see David Wright being applauded for being excited about the game, but I hope in the future Reyes will garner the same benefit of the doubt.

I don’t get it. Since when did everyone become so sensitive that players can’t react to the moment and celebrate a big hit with outward emotion? It’s not like these guys are doing some contrived choreographed NFL-style touchdown celebration.

It’s simple, if you don’t like being “shown up” then don’t grove a pitch that some guy can hit 400+ feet.

What a photo, what a moment. I missed the game live but caught highlights later on. When Wright crossed home and pumped his fist, I was out my seat with butterflies and the biggest grin I’ve had this season. This picture captures everything that is good about this team right now: power, emotion and drive.

i gotta say, this is still different than Victorino and honestly probably Reyes..

Victorino was doing his thing as he looked into the Mets dugout, almost an obvious dig at us. Reyes, I think was just REALLY excited he got the hit and it was partially about him…
Wright, he just was absolutely PUMPED his team just took a 2 run lead in a game they NEEDED to have….purely for the team, purely a leader…. awesome picture
