We KNOW Nady can hit. We KNOW he can hit in NY. We KNOW what his impact was to this team's batting order. He's a great hitter (at least this year and probably next). Yes, he's average in the OF, but this is LF we're talking about. Remember - we had Alou there (for like what, 5 games?) and were ready to play him there the whole year. Now I KNOW Nady is better in LF than Alou... Is he a proven all around superstar? Ofcourse not. But is he better than Ibanez or Blake or Dunn? Absolutely.
