The Pirates should be embarrassed by this trade. They got spare parts in this deal. Tabata has been nothing but trouble, on and off the field. Not only has he gotten into fights in the dugout, but has let his immaturity carry onto the field. He’s just another Elijah Dukes… ton of talent but no self control.

Nady was terrible in the clutch for the Mets, especially with 2 outs, RISP, or with RISP in general (look it up). And he was a slug in the Outfield- kicked the ball around constantly. Been there, done that- did not need to see him back here. I’d rather bring in someone else, and the Mets will.

And last year Nady had 20 HR and 72 RBI’s…somebody in a post above called that a “stellar year.” David wright and other more “stellar” players put up those #’s in 3 months. Can somebody please tell me what the fascination is with Nady? There are about 30-40 OFers with better #’s than him the past few years. His current .325 average will come down very near his lifetime avg. of .280

my god, you people make it seem like the phillies got nady. FORGERT ABOUT IT, GIVE IT A REST, nady will slow down in the second half and i am betting marte becomes latroy hawkins, and they arent even in your own division, as for the mets, they just need a solid player, not an all star, ibanez is a good player, 11 hr, like 60 something rbi’s i would take that, now, as for the mets, good move not breaking down, the yankees were just hypocritical on that move. remember in the offseason, they said that they refused on the best pitcher in the game in johan santana for young players, and now they give them up, wow, i mean the mets should stop kissing up to the commisioner’s office and draft above slot, draft maybe an outfielder, and you are set long term

I still love X, I don’t care if he’s a Yank or not…for me, this at least gives the Yanks a player I like and we won’t ever have to deal with him this year unless we get to a Subway WS, haha.

I don’t like the Yanks and I certainly would never root for them…but to me the whole Yanks/Mets rivalry is overrated. Maybe this is because I live in CT and so I’m not as caught up in the in-city rivalry, I dunno. Fact is, outside of playing in NY they have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

That being said, if the Yanks happen to go far this year, good for them, they’ve had to overcome a lot…I prefer to focus on my own team. LET’S GO METS!!!

This trade is consistent with the Yankees approach of taking on additional salary, even if in this case it was actually ridiculously cheap of the Pirates, and obtaining talent for lower rated prospects or suspects.

The Pirates will be a team in a constant rebuilding stage with lower priced marginally young players ad infinitum. The franchise is a joke and should be put out of its misery.

Wright’s like 4 years younger and locked up long-term to a relatively cheap contract. Holiday’s contract is up next year, it’s completely different situations.
