Jimmy Rollins stolen-base streak ended yesterday when Brian McCann caught him in the first inning of Saturday’s game.

Carroll Rogers looks at four possible trades of Braves 1B Mark Teixeira for another first baseman.  The James Loney deal seems most likely to me, as the Dodgers front office is more likely to waste a valuable young player to win now.

Mike Phillips seems to think an SI photo shoot caused Dan Uggla’s slump.  Please.

Jason Bergman pitches today for the Nationals.  He’s 1-7 this season despite a decent 4.21 ERA. The Nationals have scored three runs or less in 11 or Bergman’s 14 starts.

Those are three of the best up and coming first basement in the league…..Why would any of those teams trade a young firstbasemen whom the team controls for an older, comparitevely speaking, firstbasemen rental. It makes no sense and I don’t want to see any of those players on the Braves.

Because the Dodgers are a brilliant organization.

Another good question is why don’t they just play Andy Laroche at 3rd base instead of going out trading for Blake.

Also Youkillis is older than Tex and the Red Sox can afford to resign him. Actually all those teams could probably afford to resign him.
