In a post to SI.com, Jon Heyman writes,
“The Diamondbacks made a play for Adam Dunn, offering first baseman Chad Tracy.”
However, Reds GM Walt Jocketty recently told reporters in Cincinnati that he had not talked to any one today about Dunn, according to the Cincinnati Inquirer.
Nevertheless, Heyman adds, “Another National League team also is said to have called about Dunn, a slugger who’s drawn surprisingly little interest.”
In the New York Post earlier this week, Joel Sherman wrote, “The Mets did consider Dunn, but his poor defense, historical problems in clutch situations and high strikeout rates have eliminated interest.”
By the way, Heyman also provides information on talks between the Dodgers and White Sox, regarding a shortstop.
