Yea, but Gomez returned a pretty good pitcher for us. Milledge has talent, but it’ll take him a few years to really thrive. Fmart was always touted as a more pure hitter than those two (obv the others have more tools) and thats why I kinda wanna keep him. Athletic toolsy players we have groomed b4 and failed (escobar) but we haven’t had a pure hitter since DWright and before him I couldn’t tell you.

He was rated above Gomez and Milledge, WHEN they were here. And thats when he was 18 years old. Thats why, WHEN they were here, that he was untouchable and they were’nt. He’s been hyped since the day we signed him in 2005.

the way they treat this kid? its responses like that, they are extra cautious with the kid. People like you would boo him if he makes an out in his debut. which is just unreasonable. The kid is 19 years old, there is no reason to rush him. Over-hyped only b/c the kid cant stay on the field. Sounds just like another 19 year old that debuted at the big league level and he is our starting shortstop.

Lastings Milledge is garbage and should have been traded for Ramirez in 2005 and 2006 when the opportunities presented themselves and Ramirez still had production ahead of him.

under achieving over hyped outfield prospects are a dime a dozen, young lefties who improve every year while jumping levels are not, you “F-MART” fans have bought into the ridiculous hype and superlatives thrown at this kid who has flat out not made an impact yet beyond rookie ball, and the only thing you can hang your argument on is he is 19 playing a level above where he should, to which I can only say that means it will be at least three years before he makes credible impact at the major league level.

He would have already been traded for Bay if I was the GM.

its not that, it is just that the mets, if you know, he does well, just sign him to a 3-4 year deal, if not, he leaves for free agency, and you get the players that you had lost, it is risky, i know, but if omar plays all his cards right, the mets might, i repeat, might go to the world series,

cuz frankly, the only reason martinez is hyped is cuz he is the only prospect that is an A caliber prospect. if he was so good, he would have been known when guys like carlos gomez and MY GUY LASTINGS MILLEDGE were still here. know this, lastings was one of my favorite players watching. why did the mets trade him, he might be a 30-30 guy one day. that seriously is horrible.

Manny is not the player he once was, For Bay I would send the incredibly over hyped Martinez in a second, you have a right handed bat in his prime and under contract for at least one more season at a very reasonable price.

Martinez better be the ROY next year and be an immediate all star caliber player the way Wright was, anything less is unexpectable the way they treat this kid.
