These last two months i hope they are it for us and Billy. I have had my fill. I say we trade him or hopefully he retires in the off-season, Make a big push for K-ROD. Trade Carlos Beltran for a Aaron Rowand (Good fielder, Nice Bat, clubhouse guy) and a good arm out of the pen. Maybe we don't have the power but we are safer at the end of games and we get the "hard-nosed gamer" that we need. Wags is the worst it like a Phillie killing us from the inside!

wags is old and scared. I was at the game in Houston, when Billy blew Johan's win. what a mess. the whole crowd was very loud and on Billy as soon as he ran out and only got louder as he gave up the hits.

they were also all over Beltran everytime he touched the ball or came to the plate.

billy always has an excuse, he may be hurt but man up and sit these awful players down.

Time to pay San DIego back for earlier this year! LETS GO METS

Of all the problems that surround this team, Carlos Beltran isn't one of them. I know alot of haters are around and complain about him, but I cannot think of anyone else I'd rather have in centerfield. Besides I doubt you could get a fair trade for him in the offseason and he has a no trade clause to boot. I agree with you on the youth movement, unfortunately this may take some time.

OK, I am going to get radical here and see where it takes me. I do not think the Mets can win the division with this team. Cinderella's slipper seems to be falling, and I don't know that she will get it back on in time to win the East. Even if the Mets were to win the division, I don't see them capable of winning it all, which is anyone's objective at the beginning of the season. I am not unhappy that we are starting to explore what the youth can do at the ML level. Kunz should be the closer until Wags comes back from his confidence, sorry forearm, woes. I want to see what Murphy, Kunz, Niese can do and I think its absurd if the Mets don't call up Niese for a spot start along the way. Our 3 best players are young in baseball age but not experience. Wright, Reyes, Santana are the future. Lets see what kind of young talent we can put around them and see what the future holds. I am not saying you cannot have veterans in the lineup as no team can win without some sort of veteran presence.

I am also starting to think its time to decide what Carlos Beltran is worth. He has been playing average baseball all year and is not living up to the expectations his contract had placed upon him. When I heard Beltran in the Manny deal, on first glance, I would have said no way. The more I think about Beltran in a deal for someone else(maybe this offseason), I start to wonder if it can be done. I don't know why but he has been regressing since his first fine season. This year's offensive woes can be placed lost of places, but he has never caught fire, and I think it hurts now more than ever.

Of course the season is not over, and I admit freely that I am just feeling down after a sweep at the hands of the Astros. Lets not pack up the season yet, but lets hope things turn around sooner than later, and the youngsters can step up!!!\
