I don’t live in NY so I don’t get the local paper story so if that makes my statement untrue I apologize, However after Wagner blows a save I have never seen him dodge the media. He always has a quote the next day in the paper.

Ya know,I’m not sure if we could have got Nady/Marte although that would have been huge.
seems like given what the pirates took for them we
could have offered a better deal. But see THATS what drives me crazy about omar. After the fact he says as much. Dude,isn’t the what you’re paid for?
To know what’s goin’ on within the trade market coming up to the deadline?But yeah, those two would have been ideal.

Yeah, Thats exactly what I think.the Wilpns put
the kabash on a Manny deal because I always thought/heard omar loves him.I’m all for having a
team of solid citizens but ya know at this point i
wanna see us win a championship. Lord knows
those phoney yankee fans root for anyone if they help them win.I know also thewilpons and maybe omar wer worried about”chemistry” but c’mon
I’m sure I dont have to go into the history of teams the won and couldnt stant each other starting with
teams I remember as a kid,the mid70s A’s and
late70s Yankees. I think in the end the combo of
both not having fresh reliable arm(s) in the pen
and having to wheel out lineups which include
too many holes 5thru8 will leave us 3/4 games
short to the Phillies and out of the playoffs since
looks like 2 teams are comin’out of the Central.

Smith hit a wall last season. He seems to be doing the same this year.
Humber would have been in the pen here. I think he will be a decent middle reliever similar to Heilman.
