Ryan Howard continued his career assault on his home town team with another home run against the Cardinals Saturday night.  Howard played 24 games against the Cardinals and failed to collect a hit in only three of them.  He knocked out 12 home runs in 91 at bats while driving in 32 runs.

In the Braves injury market, Chipper Jones is up as he expects to return to the lineup Friday, while Tim Hudson is down, deciding on Tommy John surgery.

Elijah Duke’s injury Saturday night was just a charlie horse.

Scott Olsen, starting for the Marlins today, has seen his strikeout rate drop each season since his 2005 debut.  His K per 9 over the years were 9.3 in 2005, 8.3 in 2006, 6.8 in 2007, 4.8 in 2008.  Fewer strikeouts mean more balls in play and more pressure on the Marlins defense.
