Jeremy Hermida struck a six-year-old boy with a line drive, sending the child to the hospital Tuesday night. Hermida contacted the family:
”I gave him my phone number and told him to call me if he needed anything,” said Hermida, adding that he intends to invite Babel and his family to batting practice when the Marlins return to Philadelphia in September.

So let me get this straight, Hermida hits the kid with a batted ball and wants to make it up to them by inviting them to batting practice?
Uh…yeah that’s kinda what the quote is saying.
Wouldn’t you think that’s the last thing the parents would want to put the kid through?
I think you might be reading too much into it.
I don’t think the kid’s actually going to bat. He’s probably just going to go around the meet the players. I think it’s pretty generous.
Where’s the kid’s father to keep his son from getting hit?
Or, you could look at it this way – Hermida doesn’t have to do anything at all, so it’s nice that he’s even offering.
yea, I can’t believe people are gonna criticize Hermida for a pretty nice gesture. It’s not his fault the kid got hit by a line-drive, it’s not like he was aiming for him. He feels bad so he’s gonna try to do something nice for the kid.
The Braves front office really dropped the ball with the Texiera trade.
