Why wouldn’t Omar at least claim Giles (we are clearly ahead of the Red sox in the pecking order)? If the Padres said just take him and his salary, we’re not ok with that? That certainly satisfies the objective of upgrading the OF without giving up prospects…

it’s been revealed the the Red Sox were the team to claim Giles…sox are on his no trade list too…not sure how much sense any of that makes

I think Pedro will be a surprise too, if he stays healthy, which I think he will do. He’s had very little regular pitching against real batters over the last two years, and now that he’s getting into the rhythm of things, he should be good to go.

i dont buy that the Mets werent one of the teams that didnt claim him. I mean with Church as a question mark, and Omar stating that Nando will be our LF, that leaves RF open. and Giles could be that guy. and its only for a rental so its possible.

dont mind having him at all, hence he’s putting up solid numbers this year (and he crushed Pedro last night lmao)

kind of funny though thats its an “unknown team” right about the time that the Mets are facing the Padres with OF questions..
