Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports the Marlins have signed C Paul Lo Duca to a minor league contract.
According to Frisaro, Lo Duca will report to the Marlins Triple-A Albuquerque affiliate on Saturday.
In 46 games for the Nationals this season, Lo Duca hit .230 with 0 HR and 12 RBI.

figures…..
lol
That’s how I would be. I’d play in the major’s until
nobody wanted me, then I’d play in the minors until
nobody wanted me, then I’d play fast pitch softball
until nobody wanted me, then slow pitch.
Uh.
They really hated being the youngest team in Major League Baseball, didn’t they?
If Minaya signed him there’d be 47 posts describing it as a low risk high gain move.
Maybe they did so LoDuca could retire as a Marlin.
Remember people wanted Omar to sign him to the 3 year deal he wanted?
Which people? Not I.
Not you Joe, and not me either, but lots.
I don’t remember a huge outcry from anyone when Omar let him walk. Maybe I missed it.
You missed it. “He’s the heart and soul of the team.” “Great guy in the clubhouse.” yadda yadda yadda.
Yes, I remember those. But to be fair, they died down pretty quickly once his name was on the list of known steroid users.
Dear Albuquerque PTA,
Lock up your daughters.
I liked Pauly, he had fire. Something we lack these days. I will always remember him for the playoff game against the Dodgers when he tagged out the two runners trying to score and let out a big howl after the play.
That was a great play (I was there), but it spoke more to JD Drew’s hideous baserunning and a great relay throw by Valentin than it did to Paulie.
It was more the fire after the play. I think it got the team going.
See what I mean?
I’m talking 06′ Pauley, not 08′. that ship sailed and i agree with you.
Just because he’s not a Met anymore and apparently an evil ex-Met, doesn’t mean he didn’t make a great play. Being there doesn’t give you the right to take away from what he did. As a matter of fact you saw it a lot worse than those not there did.
Huh? What great play did he make? Tagging two people who slid into his glove? He didn’t make a BAD play, but Valentin made a magnificent one-hop throw that Paulie barely even had to move for.
They don’t lack it. Maybe you lack it as a fan?
i think that moment was the 5h best in Mets playoff history.
1: Mookie hit in Game 6 of 86 WS
2. Winning the WS in 69
3. Winning the WS in 86
4.Endy Chanvez’s catch
5. Lo Duca’s Double Tag Out at Home
Don’t forget Benitez giving up… oh, you said ‘best’…
Top 10 maybe but not top 5.
is that a joke you just put paul lo duca ahead of todd pratts and robin venturas walk off
there arent that many young women in miami so lo duca will stay out of trouble
South Beach?
Gosh, makes me wonder what my #s would be like if I juiced.
