Test: Post on iTouch
By Matthew Cerrone - Aug 8, 2008 9:23 pm

This is a test post on the iTouch, to see how the new WordPress app works, which will help determine whether I get an iPhone, which I clearly can’t afford, but which I clearly should get.

I’ve commented with my iPhone in the past. . . .

  2. metinDC23 says:

I’ve never tried commenting- but I LOVE my itouch.

    • Giaco says:

First and foremost, mets blog should have a mobile site.

      Ex: http://www.m.metsblog.com

This blog takes so long to load on my treo but I do it anyway.

Then an application would be awesome. I have an ipod touch and love these new apps. I listen to WFAN on my ipod touch at work.

  3. TilMetsDoUsPart says:

Ask SNY for one. I’m sure they’d cover it…

You could probably make a MetsBlog app and get one free. At Activision we made one game for the iPhone and iTouch and now we get a huge discount on Apple services.

  4. Flushing_is_Burning says:

    using it now

  5. mikeyrad says:

hey Matt, have GEICO buy you one. (from my iPhone)

  6. shannon says:

if you can’t afford the phone, try the iPod touch!

  7. ghobot says:

yeah I am using the touch right now. It’s so wonderful.

  8. Confused says:

    fyi matt,

it isnt an “itouch”, it is an ipod touch.

doesnt the ipod touch cost more than the iphone?

    • The .500 Club says:

Yea but the service for the iPhone is like 85+ a month.

By the way Matt, I use the iPod touch and LOVE it.

    testes, testes, 1, 2…

  10. AzMetsFan says:

matt….use your blog to get things paid for. That should be a new hobby of yours.

    ex.
Mr. Hot Dog Guy: That’ll be $4
Matt: I’m matt cerrone from Metsblog
Mr. Hot Dog Guy: Free for you

A Blackberry is a better option, IMO.

A friend of mine bought the first iPhone and (mostly) loved it.

When the new iPhone 3G came out, she got one of the first ones of those. Her new phone has terrible reception, though. Doesn’t work in most rooms of her house (in LA, for whatever that’s worth), whereas the previous one, the version 1 iPhone, worked perfectly.

Now she has a new, slimmer, trimmer phone that doesn’t work in a lot of places. Though it does have a very cool light sabre app that makes great noises.

I don’t know if the new one is defective or if this is a known problem with the second generation iPhones, but I’d suggest checking it out before buying one. All the Internet stuff is great, but if the phone doesn’t work too well as a phone, …well, that wouldn’t be much fun, would it?

  14. ghobot says:

it’s nice to see all those errors are gone.

I basicly always have Metsblog open on my iphone…for example when I’m at shea before a game I always read the Metsblog pre game from my iphone or when trade rumors are getting hot I am constantly refreshing Metsblog wherever I am. I would be absolutly thrilled if you could create a Metsblog App for the itouch/iphone, it would be probably the most useful thing ever.

    • Magadan29 says:

Danarcher…I use the google iphone website. I subscribed to metsblog’s RSS feed and read it and any other things I subscribed to in google reader. It doesn’t let you read comments but you can always click from the post and get to the original site.

Matt doesn’t own an iPhone, nor an iTouch. In fact, he doesn’t own anything about it. All he knows is, it works.

  17. ravi3 says:

Love my iPhone…have some issues after upgrading to the latest software version though.

I recommend two apps to everyone…both are free..

1)Shazam – This program will tell you the name and artist of any song that is playing. All you do is run the program, and put the iPhone/iPod touch near the speakers. The program records it, checks it against the entire iTunes library, and gets the results back to you within a minute

2)Urban Spoon – great tool to help figure out where to get a meal. You can pick an area, type of food, and price range, and it will come up with places for you. Or, if you want something random, just give the phone a shake, and it will randomly pick a location/food type/price range for you, as if it was a slot machine.

  18. patrick says:

I like to touch my iPod. The phone is clearly better, price of service not withstanding, because it can be used everywhere (almost) where as the touch needs wifi love
