John Lannan faces the Brewers in Milwaukee today. His 2.57 ERA on the road ranks fourth lowest in the National League.

Mike Hampton showed signs of his old control in his last start, walking just one Giant in seven innings. For the season, he’s walked seven in 16 innings pitched.

Dan Uggla blames his slump on an injury:

”I’ve been struggling ever since I came back from the ankle [injury],” he said. “It’s just not as strong as it was before.”

Uggla posted averages of .185/.286/.326 since returning from the injury with only three home runs in 26 games.  He still ranks in the top ten in National League home runs, however.

Jamie Moyer cut his home run rate by 1/3 since the All-Star break.  He allowed 24.6 HR per 200 innings pre break, but just 16.7 HR per 200 innings since.

Greg Dobbs just tied the Phils game with his team record 21st pinch hit, then Utley hit a 2 run HR.

boo. so, after all that, we gained no ground this weekend.

True today was a downer. But 2 out of 3 vs. Florida is a good job, and Philadelphia goes on a west coast trip next. So now is the time to make up some ground!

On an unrelated note – Moyer’s bunt had better make the Sportscenter highlights… too funny…

Mets better win these next 4 games. There is absolutely zero excuse not to.
