agreed. If they used him in the same way he was used in the minors the chances of him pitching well would go up. I dont think he'll get the chance with the Mets though. There are too many guys below him in the minors who the Mets will look to for pen help in the future along with Kunz.

hmm, Darling mentions it so much it seems like it must be more than once. Maybe Sid bailed out other starters as well.

Bailey's had chances both last year and this. Granted he's young but he's getting shelled. Good point- they must have soured on him or think a move to the 'pen would be best?

Well I > Josh Fogg, but if Owings is in the rotation I wonder what it means for Homer Bailey. I know reports have said he's fallen out of favor recently.

Yeah, but Gina, Michah Owings >> Josh Fogg. I think Owings gives them pretty good depth, and about 10 HR a year in that ballpark b/w his starts and pinch hitting.

Also, unfortunately for them Dusty Baker is still their manager, so unless he's fired, they'll still suck.

Also they've been shopping Owings for a while. I know they tried to get the Braves to take him in a package instead of that other pitcher, Schlereth I think his name is, so there may be something about him that worries them, I know his mechanics are all out of wack.

Eh, Owings seriously came back down to earth after his strong start. As far as I know he wasn't regarded as one of their top prospects to begin with.

Although they could have given up 3 of their 4 top prospects and some people in here would have claimed they gave up a package of nothing.
