Next season will be 40 years since ’69. I would bet (that makes some of you feel really old) that we will see a bunch of them around the park and have a special night for them through next season.

It is a shame, they should have more former players taking thier number off the wall for number of games left.

just trying to help everyone a bit, we have to laugh to keep from crying when it comes to the pen.

There has also been a ripple effect, all the minor league pens are following suit with the Mets as they are without their best relievers (Muniz, Kunz) or otherwise just have been bad lately. For someone who follows the minors as well its been an awful stretch, Johan isnt the only one losing W’s in the late innings.

It’s not his idea! Bobby V did it! It’s just him re-hashing stupid ideas. Put your best pitchers first. It would be like putting in your defensive replacement to start and pinch hitting for him with a starter. Come on.

what have u been smokin nate and where can i cop some lol off topic it ticks me off what the mets are doing in this last year at shea i mean come on have a oldtimers day where u bring back players from all the teams wheather is duke snider or craig swan we deserve to see our old guys (good or bad) to help close this stadium which has been my home for the last 36 years

Who cares what Wagner thinks? If he doesn’t like it, well then, that’s tough Billy. How about you lose your ego for the benefit of the team and let’s get moving forward? The reality here is that these guys are all just employees of an organization and sometimes, like it or not, you have to adjust to certain circumstances. Omar has a job to do and he needs to go out there and field a championship caliber team. The Mets bullpen has failed them this season and its a problem that needs to be addressed to the highest extent. You cannot win a World Series with the current bullpen and something has to be done, period.
