Shea: Marlon takes BP
By Matthew Cerrone - Aug 20, 2008 5:26 pm

I didn’t see it, but, according to Ted Berg, Marlon Anderson is taking batting practice, and looks to still be slightly limping.

He is jogging well, though, for what it’s worth.

Also, I like that Omar Minaya, the executive, is wearing a full-blown, pinstriped suit during batting practice, while everyone else is in uniform.

Speaking of Minaya, he is scheduled to visit the booth and be on air during the third inning on SNY.

is that a line in the Matthew Cerrone produced Geico commercial with Yogi Berra?

and they give you cash! which is just as good as money!.

how can you see Marlon limping if you didnt see him take BP?

There’s no room at the inn, Marlon. Beat it.

I hope Marlon can turn it around. He’s a good guy and the only one who cared enough to speak up when they were struggling.

I agree with you, he stuck his neck out for the team and helped pull things together. He at least deserves the fans respect.

who needs marlon when you have church coming back and you have murphy and evans on this team. I think we need to do the castillo treatment with anderson. keep him in rehab games for as long as we can.

Can we can castillo, or at least let argenis and him go at it in a battle to the death to see who will play for us now.

And if castillo wins, we take a hammer to his knee. :)

I really love the comments on this blog sometimes.

Marlon Anderson, when healthy, is one of the best pinch-hitters in baseball. He played hurt all year, explaining in part his subpar performance. Anyone who would not want to add a healthy Marlon Anderson for the stretch run simply does not understand baseball.

And again, in two weeks there are expanded rosters. Having Anderson back, along with Castillo, and Nixon, will only help. These are veteran presences. Castillo has 2 World Series rings. Nixon has one. But if you really think the presence of Nick Evans means all of that experience is useless, little I can do to disabuse you of that notion.

WHO CARES???? Unless he can come back and play like he did last yr then i would rather hear about where church is at

We should take everyone who can contribute come Sep with expanded rosters. Alou, if healthy, can only help.
