I’m going to tonight’s game, it will be fantastic to see him out there. I am not expecting much but at the very least I hope the guy is healthy for good this time.

I won’t be able to see him come back, it’s my grandmother’s birthday. *sniff* Anyone know where the lineup is?

That is much much more important than Church’s return. Happy Birthday, grandma, and many more!

David Lennon at Newsday always has the lineups posted a few hours before the game. Sometimes earlier.

looks like the team is coming together lately. WIll be intereting to see what the configuration is on 9/1 (preplanning for the playoffs, but knock on wood).

Ryan Church is awful.

(Sorry, just wanted to be a contrarian. I don’t think that.)

He should start wearing a batters helmet on field for extra protection, ala Johnny Olerud

It’s a little more difficult in the OF, I’m thinking. He could use a chinstrap, however. . . .

Except..he had a helmet on for the second concussion :-P

So, therefore, helmets are worthless for preventing concussions? They’re not perfect, but they’re safer than nothing.

what is OMAR and Jerry thinking!

Fir em both

I think we need to carry 15 catchers~!

and we could use a couple more 2nd basemen while we’re at it

willie and jerry would play more secondbasemen, but there is only one slot in the lineup to put them (2nd).

Olerud wore a helmet because of his aneurysm. Helmets will not do much for a concussion (ask a football player).

Besides - the last time he got a concsussion, he was running the bases and had a helmet on.

I’m thinking concussions might be more prevalent in the NFL were there no helmets, but perhaps I’m wrong.
