Read: Today, in the NL East

Hitting home runs is the only part of Chase Utley‘s offense that’s better at home.  His batting average is about 20 points higher on the road and his on-base average is 50 points higher.  Chase collected more doubles, triples and walks, but he hit seven more home runs in four fewer games.

Cody Ross is close to his average hit going for a double.  He’s knocked out 92 hits hits season good for 176 total bases.  He homered, doubled and singled Friday night.

The Braves allowed 89 runs in their last 12 games, 7.4 runs per game.  They are 1-11 in the stretch with Friday night starter Charlie Morton posting a 10.24 ERA despite striking out 10 batters in 9 2/3 innings.  It’s all or nothing with Morton in this stretch as he allowed 16 hits and 11 walks.

Anderson Hernandez is 5 for 9 since joining the Nationals.  That’s almost 1/3 of his major league hits.
