lousy game last night (I was there inperson). Quite a few empty seats scattered around, and it felt like May weather wise (quite chilly). Not much life from the crowd, but not surprising given how the first 4 innings went!

Maine just did not look right at all. Uncomfortable, laboring, something. And of course, the results weren't good.

But Duaner did put the nail in the coffin. I was confused why Smith didn't come in for the one batter in the 6th, with Sanchez lined up to take the 7th. Seemed to make sense to have a roogy come in to face the one big RH batter.

Still, it would be nice to see the offense actually do soemthing today. Other than CHurch, a dismal performance by the bats (especially DW)

Let's see them pound on wolf early and often today!

I think it's clear that Maine is not quite right physically. But he went out, gave it his best and had a bad night. I was at the game and was disappointed that he was seriously booed as he came off the mound. Everyone has a right to cheer the way they want but that was just kind of nasty as Maine gave it his best, the team is in first and going into last night they've won the last 10 of 11 and 30 of the last 43.

I don't understand why he/the front office would risk it, unless it's one of those cases where he can't do anymore damage.

I guess it was a positive to hear the velocity was back for Maine.......what was his issue last night? Location?

In regards to Duaner....I'm sure they can always find something "wrong" with anyone - arm fatigue or what not........the concern I had with him is...

He had what......one good 1/2 for the Mets, and then was even starting to come back to earth just before his taxi cab accident. What had he done prior to that in his career? Granted, he was never as bad as he is right now - but he certainly never was this great setup man, was he?

Thank God for Castillo's sake that he wasn't in the starting lineup for last night's game. People on this blog woulda burned the building down.

I think Maine clearly has something wrong with him. I was at a game a few weeks ago (as well as last night) in which Maine was throwing in the 'pen. After each pitch he threw a couple weeks ago he was almost wincing and shaking his head 'no' to Dan Warthen. IMHO he has not looked good his last few starts, and either needs to spend some time on the DL or skipped at least twice down the stretch.

As for Duaner, I asked this same question the other day, and was told that you can't DL a player who doesn't have something medically wrong with him.
