His double in Philly earlier this year was one of the biggest hits of the season. A. Reyes is not a good hitter, but his defense is far and away better than Castillo's (this season), and I think the Mets need to concern themselves with defense up the middle. Let's see if Castillo can recover some range. If not, however, he shouldn't be playing a middle infield position. Yeah — Schneider has had some big hits. Reyes has done splendidly with the bat. I'll grant you that. I think he's a much better defensive option at this stage, however. The offense has been up and down, but I think that, on balance, you want the better defensive guy. Normally, that would put Castillo over Easley, too, but not this year.
