Well, for one the Stairs thing is just the most recent example. I would disagree with you, however that we only get news of player swaps when they directly affect us. I would also argue that a move by the closest division rival is relevant to the Mets.

Generally, though, it seems there are fewer, more sporadic postings of late.

i think you are looking too deep into it
matt stairs isn't exactly an earth shattering acquisition and from what I remember, we don't get the other team's acquisitions unless it directly impacts us

On another topic: why haven't we had a post in three hours? The Phils got Matt Stairs. No post on that? It seems to me that ever since the Geico thing went down, we're getting fewer posts, and especially from Matt.

I know it's a blog and up to him when and what to post, but I for one have become accustomed to a more informative site.

Did anyone else wonder what Jimmy Rollins thought of the Aramis Ramirez celebration immediately after hitting the GS to beat the Phils? Was he watching?

I understand that, but there is a difference in communicating to your season ticket holders via a mailing and posting it on your team website as if it is a forgone conclusion.

Phillies phans, you phost season has come.

Uh yeah, I am pretty calm by the way, and the Mets are not, and it is not MLB marketing. Just because MLB has networked the team sites does not mean that the individual teams do not pursue their own channels of promotion.

The Phillies are selling and marketing and have set a deadline of 9/12 for current season ticket holders to commit to all 10 potential playoff games.

Yes of course they get the money back or roll it toward 2009 deposit for seasons but they are doing it nevertheless.

Not even the Angels are being so overt. They are offering signup for single game lottery entry, but that is just the lottery entry.

They kinda have to........I'm shocked I haven't gotten my letter from the Mets yet.

Theres only so much time to get tickets out to everyone......I know they're holding out based on last season, but I would say sometime in the next week we should hear something.
