you might just be the most clueless baseball fan i have ever read anything from....the words average and david wright as a hitter should not even been in the same time zone !!!! he is having a down season in respect to RISP....agreed....but its not like the guy is batting 250 with 15 hrs and 60 rbi!!!! he is on pace for 30+ homers, 120 rbi, 115 runs scored, 90 walks, 295 ba, 380 obp...now he needs to step his play up down the stretch...but the way you make is sound it is as if he some second rate player....why dont you check his career stats....he is and has been clutch throughout his career....HE IS THE GREATES RUN PRODUCER THIS FRANCHISE HAS EVER SEEN!!! PERIOD !!! also it takes a team to win.....so next time you see someone hit a two run or three run or grand slam homer...check to see who was on base.....because i bet you wrights there and pretty decent amount of time !!!!

I noticed that too. Delgado looks more relaxed than ever in his interviews. On the other hand, last yr at this time, there was a slight panic in the air. Im not guaranteeing the Mets will be on top come 9/29 but they wont fold like they did last yr...

Of course...myself included, there are a ton of NY transplants or people from North Jersey or whatever that now work in Philly area.

Fans from NYC area usually only come down to CBP on weekend games anyways.

When Mets are good, fans literally come out of the woodwork to the Phillie games. When I would go to games in CBP or the Vet during the bleaker days, there would only be about 2,000 Met fans if that..

All 103 RBI are in the first inning? If by "normally" you mean 4 first inning sac flies and 2 ground out RBI all season, then yes, he normally does that.

In the first inning, Wright gets an RBI in 27% of his ABs
In the second inning, he gets an RBI in 36% of his ABs
In the sixth inning he also gets an RBI in 36% of his ABs

It's not just the 1st inning.

His career Late and Close batting average is higher in his career batting average, and that is also true for this year.

Wright is struggling now in key spots, but I don't doubt his clutchness one bit based on a short stretch.

Either that or he's just too distracted to concentrate. I'm not blaming her for being an active participant in his downfall like Kim Bassinger in The Natural, but a passive one.

I don't blame her, I blame him for allowing his social life to interfere with his job.

Yeah. I think Murphy can hit left-handers too. Getting Tatis bat back in the line up isn't necessarily a bad thing. The only thing tha kt ind of sucks about this is Beltran was starting to get hot. There line up is deep enough to still be able to get things going without him in the line up. I don't know how it'll come, but I'm going to say they take 1 of the next 2. I think the same will happen with the Phillies. If this can happen, imagine how big a sweep of the Phillies would be.

I'm also assuming that regardless of Niese's performance unless it's amazing, he can't start on Saturday. We have to have Johan out there on normal rest on Saturday. That way we can get Ollie in there on Sunday. Not throwing Ollie against the Phillies in a potential rubber game would be like a sin.

I dunno but MLB.com is making Beltran's injury a big deal. Id rather not see endy start against the lefty. If Beltran has to sit out Wednesday's game bring in Chavez, but for tomorrow it would be better to have Church play CF and Tatis in right with Evans in left.

Beltran will be fine. Even if he has to sit out these last two games. Endy's fresh to play. It's not like he's been out there every day. Church going into CF is an idea, but I wouldn't push it with him. Carlos is fine. Look at how many games he's been out. When was the last time he sat out? When he was ejected from that game when Manuel first started as the manager? He needed a day off anyway.

Before we get our heads into the Phillies series, we have to take care of business in Milwaukee. We have to at least split 1 out of the next 2 or even sweep it. It could be an even division at the snap of our fingers before even realizing it if this team gets lazy. Going with Niese is a risky move, but it'll prove to be a good one.

Some people think the reason why less Phillies fans are at Shea because Mets fans are going to eat there heads off or something. Mets fans are not that bad. One thing Phillies fans and Mets fans know is when they are in each other's opposite park there comes a time to shut up before you get a random soda flinged at you.
Phillies fans in my opinion are more violent and filthy mouthed though. I went to a class trip game one time and a 40 year old guy cursed out a 15 year old kid at the Phillies-Braves opening day game last year because the kid wore a Mets jacket even though it was a warm day lol Tom Gordon blew the save that day.
I say let them bring it though. It'll make it more fun. Would it really be fair if Mets fans were in Philly more than the other way around? Bring them here and it'll only throw my fire into the game. The people who are a little more timid should probably stay away from this series. Especially Saturday. They could probably make a Fox crew for fights.
