Just another reason we need to take 2 of 3 this weekend
They should have pinch hit for Ollie in the top of the first when it was 6-0, put it Knight, and then pitched Ollie tonight, giving everyone an extra day.
This is ridiculous. Why not pitch Perez on full rest? Niese should not be starting this September, Nationals or not.
Could be a sign to pitch Perez on short rest Sunday due to a probable rainout on Saturday?
you would have to think he would be fine against the nationals, although their offense has come around. To me, you need to have a guy make a couple of starts instead of running 4 guys out there and call it a rotation. Lets face it, niese is going to have to pitch and pitch well enough. Who else would you wanna see start, figgy?
Maybe they’re expecting the game to get rained out so they’re gonna pitch Perez Sunday? Other than that I don’t really understand it either.
Ithink its good to give ollie an extra dya of rest, he has been throwing alot of games with 110-120 pitches latey
You’re giving him two extra days of rest. That could get him out of a rhythm.
glad they gaved him a 2nd chance he looked like a nervous wrecc his 1st game.
This is being done in case Niese has to figure in the playoff roster.
I don’t care who the team is, this guy is pitching in a pennant race. That is plenty enough pressure.
all we are saying is give neise a chance
good one!
Thot Id repost this from an earlier thread, would like to know what you guys think of my idea
How cool would it be to create a game where u act like Jeryr Manuel. Like ur walking downthe street and a maet fan says
mets fan – hey looks its jerry manuel
you(but people think ur jery manuel) – DONT TOUCH ME I CUT U WIT A BLADE!
mets fan – okay but bout dat pen?
you(but people think ur jery manuel) – HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA it be a tight rope thats fer sure!
then go about ur day til mets game goes on since ur u but people think ur jerry manuel……. U – ahhhh finally get to watch my mets
then gary cohen says – UHOOH WHERES JERYR MANEUL i guess guy conti will be manager fot today
U – UHOH WHERES JERRY HUHOH IM JERRY SOTRA NOW?
What the heck are you talking about?
Thats one of the craziest things ive ever read in my life
What are you smoking at the Penthouse Mansion?
just you guys might like my idea. Il lcontinue it a little more….
U – UHOH SINCE IM JERYR I GOTTA GET THERE, I HOP ON 7 TRAIN AND SCRAMBLE LIKE AN EGG TO SHEA!
U – UHOH WHERE DO I GO TO GET IN TO CLUBHOUSE? THEN SECURIOTY GUARD STOPS U AND SAYS…
SECURITY GUARD – HI JERRY COME RIGHT IN UR LATE
U – OH OK
IN THE 8TH U PINCH HIT FOR JOHAN WEITH A 1 RUN LEAD THEN THE PEN BLEW THE GAME…. AFTER U NEED TO TALK TO THE REPORTERS
U START CRYING…..
IL LDO MORTE IF U LIKE IT, I THINK ITD BE A REALLY FUN GAME
I just got dyslexia reading that, I also think I may have fallen into a coma. I’m scared.
The drugs you’ve been doing seem to be of high quality. When you get a minute, turn your caps lock off and let me know who your supplier is. I’d like to get delusional before the game tonight so when the Mets are up 8-0 after 2, and 8-7 after 8, I won’t lose my nerve.
GHY JUYR JUVD MOOKIE NWQUERT.
I kinda want to hear more about this game.
I think they already have that game for xbox.
I want to get stoned and play this game.
Did he say why? Perez will be on 5 days rest at that point, thats already an extra day. I think I agree that they are planning to throw Ollie on Sunday if there is a rainout.
I am with you
Not a chance. Lots of not well thought out comments on here right now.
Humber flashbacks
Huh?
First is it Niese now it is Perez what is going on?
i’m scared.
Niese had 1 bad outing and we won the game all be it. He should start next Sunday home agst the Braves and give the starters an extra day of rest 1 more time this year. Ollie can then pitch on Monday and you go with your 5 man rotation the rest of the year. The extra rest for 3 consecutive starts should help pedro.
There’s no game on Monday. Doesn’t anyone here read the schedule?
Tuesday will be Ollie’s regularly scheduled start.
Wednesday would be Pelf’s regularly scheduled start.
Now, if you really want to give Niese another chance soon, and if Maine isn’t ready, pitch Niese at home on Wednesday 9/10. Santana on 9/12, Pedro (if he’s ok) on 9/13. Perez on 9/14 – his regular start. Niese on 9/15 again, or if Niese stunk it up, you decide whether to go back to Pelf there or see if Maine is ready; either way, Pelf pitches 9/15 or 9/16 at the latest.
Then, there are no more days off, so you go Santana – Pedro – Perez – #5 – Pelf all the way from 9/17 thru. That gives you Pelf – Santana – Pedro for the final weekend, with Perez for the playoff if necessary.
And, obviously, once the games don’t matter any more, none of them pitch until after the end of the regular season.
I would pitch Niese in Washington, and in Atlanta and then reconsider who the #5 starter is for the Cubs game.
or (see below) pitch Niese on 9/10 like you said…
I could come up with a very good case to not pitch Pelfrey against the Nationals and let Niese have that game on Wed…
but the way Pelf has been going he will barely break a sweat and shut out the Nats for 8 innings. So why not let him do it? :)
