If the Mets are to make the playoffs, not just does Jerry deserve to come back but he deserves manager of the year. No one saw this coming. If the Mets make the playoffs, the idea of Johan as a Cy Young can rise even though the Mets pen stole some wins of his. The idea of Delgado and Reyes for MVP rise. And the level of confidence will be brought back to this franchise.

What ever happened under Willie wasn't Jerry's doing. Jerry came in and got the job done. In June, we would have asked just to be competitive. The notion was that if he could get us in the playoffs (divison or wild card), than bring him back. Otherwise, let him go. Why should we delete such a notion? I say bring him back if we make the playoffs. If we don't, don't bring him or Warthen back. And fire Minaya. It's all about results. This is a business.

Don't count on the easy schedule. That is what we all thought last year. Nice to see the Brewers losing just in case.

Last night exorcised the ghosts of last year. This is a new year. Santana finally got some respect in my book. And Delgado has to be the leading MVP candidate. Reyes and Wright 0 for 9 in the biggest game of the year and Delgado, 3 for 4 with 2 bombs and a 2-out 2-Run single. That is clutch. Quick, somebody get D-Wright a notebook...he needs to take notes. And how about Easley and that huge triple for insurance. Castillo couldn't hit one over Victorino's head if he was standing on second base. Its a beautiful morning...enjoy the off day...and enjoy first place. LETS GO METS!!!

The games against the Mets have been the most important for the Phillies since Hamels has been rated their ace. They are the games an ace is supposed to win, and since he is rated as their ace, he is overrated.

Pelfrey is rated as a 5th starter coming into the year, thus losing games to the third place team over and over doesn't change his rating.
