Again, if you would like to attend the second-to-last, regular-season game at Shea Stadium, sit in the bleachers, enjoy unlimited food and soft drinks, including a raffle, while getting to stand on the warning track prior to the game during the National Anthem, all for $80 per person, go to GaryKeithandRon.com.
They have released another 200 tickets, so, if you’re interested in attending, do not hesitate.
To get on the field, you MUST be wearing a GaryKeithandRon.com t-shirt, which, if you haven’t seen them, are fantastic – the proceeds of which all go to support their Pitch In for a Good Cause Foundation.

can’t wait for this…bought my tickets the first round….anyone else goin?
I’m going with some of my friends. Met Lynn Cohen, who organizes all this stuff, at the 92nd Street Y event last night and she is just a doll.
great, well sounds good, i can’t wait
Im very excited about going to this. I cant wait for the game hopefully we can end the season a little differently against florida this year.
My wife and I are going and we’re pumped….but then again nervous about where the Mets will be with two games left.
Hopefully I can meet a few other people from the site there. I should be there early enjoying the food and the views of the stadium.
I’ll be at the game (Dana Brand). I’ll be selling and signing copies of my book, Mets Fan, and I’ll be contributing all proceeds to the Gary, Keith, and Ron charities.
Lynn is wonderful. She’ s been kind enough to arrange for my mother (in a wheelchair) to see the game. She’s been a Mets and Brooklyn Dodgers fan for over 70 years and she took me to the second to last Mets game in the Polo Grounds in 1963.
First, the advertisements have made their way to go in between posts now (Seriously, what the heck was that?!?!). Now, it’s more solicitation for partner sites. What’s next, are the postings soon going to be “teaser line” only, while the whole article will only be shown after clicking through a ad page?
With power comes corruption. However, I’m still a loyal reader at the moment simply because this is the best source of knowledge around. But I hope Matt doesn’t think we’re not noticing al the little details.
Great post… But you are on the bad list…..
I understand your concern but this post is the wrong place for it. The proceeds from the sale of these shirts is going to charity and this is something I would think most Mets fans would be interested in (going on the field at Shea).
I can see your point, I’m sorry. That was definitely not my intention, and I hope my post will have no negative effect on the proceeds generated. That said, I felt IMHO that Metsblog was trying to full a quick one there with the new ad, and this just happened to be the top post at the time. (It seems the ads do not ’stick’ with the posts, and always stays in the same position between the 2nd and 3rd posts on the homepage – so at that time, this was the thread that was affected.)
Is the 80 price of admission going to charity as well????
Banner Day is the time to be on the field at Shea? do the Wilpons still have Banner Day?
Unreal.
I’m helping a friend promote an event that will help raise tens of thousands of dollars for charity.
Sorry for wanting to help with such a good cause.
Jeez, I’d love to hear why you think this is a bad idea?
Um, do fnas of this site expect you to be a monk and not pay bills?
People nothing is for free. The alternative is this becomes a pay site or Matt has to work a real job and the content on this site goes bye bye.
Unbelievable. I people think a band should never get a record deal or play MSG, but only high school proms.
Man, we should be embracing the succes of this site, since each of us had a little bit to do with it. If Matt makes money off of it, then great for him.
Wow, what an uncalled for comment.
I look at this site like the old ECW. We were all a part of its success and promotion to the mainstream. This site was our little secret, but not everybody knows about. Does it make it bad? No. Some old ECW fans could never deal with the fact that people outside Philly started to know what ECW was. It was elitist.
Same thing with Metsblog. We helped build this site through our viewings and comments. Does that give us the right to be ticked off that Matt wants to make s living off of this? No. Same way we had no right being made that we as ECW fans did not get a check when they got a cable deal.
We are fans. This site is like a TV show. TV shows have commercials. it’s how you pay bills. This is not a Youtube clip.
I still can’t get my head around this comment.
I honestly thought my two comments were sincere enough concerns, and even if they’re somewhat trivial, my efforts are at least above “troll”-level. I honestly did. I think I was careful enough to at least somewhat give the impression that wasn’t irritated by this post alone (which I am not) but just at the general direction this site has been heading since sponsorship.
I’ve always thought that Matt was for the trivial ‘little guy’ with a voice. But apparently, Matt himself thinks that I am only someone to just roll your eyes at and “jeez” away. Well, if that’s how you really feel, Matt, then I’m sorry. Really. I am. I don’t wish to be a nuisance. That’s the last thing I want to be. I don’t mind if you think all I wrote was rubbish, just let me know, and I’ll stop.
Don’t sweat it Matt. There will always be people that just want to complain. It’s part of life.
does the 80 bucks include the shirt? or do I need to buy the ticket and also a shirt to stand on the field
you need to get the shirt also, which ends up totalling over 100. I still feel it’s worth it for the opportunity to go on the field before the game. Also, all you can eat, so I’ll be going on a VERY empty stomach
ill be there but in my regular seats if anyone is near section 25 on the mezz im in row g-
Damn – wish I lived close enough to Shea to attend this game……
where do u live
hey give me some of the proceeds and everyone can get along.
