Note: Online, Random Drawing for Playoff Tix
By Matthew Cerrone - Sep 8, 2008 12:42 pm

According to a team press release, the Mets have launched an online, random drawing on Mets.com for the opportunity to purchase tickets to potential 2008 Mets postseason games at Shea Stadium.

Registration for the NLDS drawing closes at 11:59 p.m. Monday, September 15.

I understand that they have to do it – nevertheless, I am totally sick to my stomach right now.

    LETS GO METS!!!

  2. patrick says:

As long as they do not keeping running those Your Post Season has come commercials.

  3. Ceetar says:

Gotta be done. btw, Phillies already sent out their ‘please register’ email about playoffs, so we win the JInx anyway.

stupidstitious people aren’t going to be happy

    • starz31 says:

      poking fun i see.

    • mikeyrad says:

Did you ever notice that whenever Gary says that player x hasn’t gotten a hit off a Mets pitcher he immediately gets a hit, or that a Mets hitter is batting .500 against a pitcher, the hitter strikes out with the bases loaded?

  5. starz31 says:

looks like its one entry per name, no longer one per email. I guess I’m gonna have to use all my family member’s names.

Its also only for 1 game. Not up to 6 tickets spread over a series…Only up to 4 tickets in 1 game.

    • Ceetar says:

How did you tell? If you mis-registered last year you just didn’t get enter and they didn’t tell you till you didn’t receive a confo/reject letter.

      • starz31 says:

i read the extended details they have. I got tix in 2006 and it was one entry per email. and you got the option to buy up to 6 tickets total, no matter how many games.

“Limit one entry per person. In the case of multiple entries for the same individual, only the first entry received will be considered.”

It used to be clarified that it was the first entry per email or something like that. I’m not positive, more like 90% positive. But I def used my name over many emails before and got rejected on all of them lol.

    • swirlywand says:

are you sure? I just registered all my email addresses…and got no error message…

I did NOT try and register more than one email address though..but honestly, everyone deserves more than 1 chance in a gozillion…

      • starz31 says:

I think you can enter no matter what you put, its just you wont find out if you were in the running until you get many emails saying yes or no at the time of the drawing. The reason i said not one per email is b/c I thought it used to specify that and now it specifys one per individual.

        • starz31 says:

i have no idea if it could be many different names under one email…that might work. but it used to be only one per email…not sure if it goes by email or by name.

  6. janss36 says:

Glad I have my Pennant Race Pack and get the option to buy all games…

Even though it’s costing me $2600.

    • starz31 says:

how many tickets and games do you get with that?

      • janss36 says:

I bought when the deal was for the remaining 15… They are still selling for the remaining 10…

Of course, you will have the option to buy all 2008 postseason games and are requried to put a deposit down for full season tix at Citi Field for 2009…

        • starz31 says:

yea I can’t do it myself…I was just curious how many games you got for that price plus playoff game options. could be worth it for playoff tix alone.

        • janss36 says:

Well, caution you that if you buy it will be for either Upper Box or Mezz Box seats which cost $1300 for each seat for all 10 playoff games…

Got my Postseason invoice on Saturday…

    That reminds me…

FEAR and LOATHING in DC….BUT, that being said…I’m confident that this year will be different…and that I won’t get an email taunting me on Oct. 1

SO, I’m NOT SCARED…I signed up all 18 of my email addresses, my parents and friends…and will hope for the best! Let’s Go MEts!

  8. Ceetar says:

You know what might jinx it though?

Images of 2007 playoff tickets…come on!

  9. koosman says:

What made me ill was the $1300 invoice I got for potential postseason games for my Saturday plan. That is a huge amount of money to shell out.

    • dave27 says:

You’ll have no problem selling them…and it only costs that if they go to the world series, so it’s a good problem to have!

    • Xavier22 says:

when did you receive the invoice for the postseason tickets? I have a Tues-Fri plan and haven’t received anything yet.

      • koosman says:

I got it last week–they also sent an email and you can pay on the website. I agree it would be a nice problem to have but the amount was rather shocking. The 4 possible postseason games cost as much as the entire season plan did!

        • backinbusiness says:

          No kidding.

My UR Sat Plan (2 tix): $575.

          My postseason invoice: $758.

I figure, I’m only spending that if the Mets are in the World Series, and come on, if that happens, what’s $758??? (Keep telling myself that!)

  10. dave27 says:

Nothing to be superstitious….I GUARANTEE you that the team that is to win the 2008 World Series has already sent out their playoff ticket email, along with several teams who will not make the playoffs.

Begging the question…where do the Yankees stand on this? LOL.

  11. gomets6091 says:

I think the Yankees include postseason tickets in their normal pre-season ticket plans.

  12. DK says:

I have WS tkts from 06 and NLDS for 07…

    3rd time is the charm!!!

  13. ExileInLA says:

anyone having problems with it accepting a phone # from a non-NY area “area code”?

  14. Does anybody know anybody who has actually won tickets this way before?

  15. janss36 says:

I won for the NLDS in 2006…

    • LL says:

I won in 2006 for 1 game in the NLCS! Game 6.

Then got lucky (or unlucky, depends on how you look at it) and bought a pair outside the stadium for game 7. Got in during the 2nd inning. They were hard to come by for that game. NO one was selling.

  16. GeorgeThomas says:

I’m a full season subscriber and I got my playoff invoice today. I was very happily surprised that the tickets are exactly the same price as last year. Nice job Mets!
