Today's pitchers are babied due to how much they cost. Baseball today is the same game as it was when guys like Seaver and Ryan pitched they only real difference is how much they throw on the side between starts.

The game has changed because of much it cost to sign premier guys, a guy like Ollie would probably be a 150 pitch a game guy in the 70's and 80's now he's lucky if he gets through 5+ and is going to be looking for $12-$15 mil per?

Bring back the days when pitchers pitched, throw some figgin innings boys and your arms will be stronger.

Yeah, but then you run into problems like the time that guy hit on the poster who used his daughter's name for his username. It's too bait-and-switchy, match.com's lawyers would never go for it.

Show him the money!

I wouldn't go more than 5 years or more than $14 mill/year. But I would definitely offer K-Rod a contract like that. If the bidding gets much over that, then Omar should just walk away. But at least he should make some serious offers..

He changed his mechanics from being a strikeout pitcher so he can be more efficient. His pitch count is lower than ever this year.

Instead of speaking of My. Flint's post as just some funny, nonsensical mumbo jumbo we can take it for what it is - a strong attempt to get at the heart of the problem the Mets face in the upcoming month. Holding Philly off, facing the same bottom feeders that burnt them last season - I think his post touches at the base of everything we as Mets fans need to be worried about.
